Here is a great list of the secrets and fun facts about Animal Kingdom. Do you have any to add?
When you walk into the park you will notice long wavy red and green patterns embedded in the pavement. It is just one part of a giant mural representing the Tree of Life. Take a look at it on the park map or before you leave, look at it on Google Earth.
For some great pictures of the Tree of Life head toward the Discovery Island Trails. Walk to the back of the trails from great views with no obstructions or people passing by.
When exploring the Tree of Life notice that at the roots the carvings begin with dinosaurs and other prehistoric life then moves up through the African Wildlife, then birds and then bugs.
Before entering the turnstiles for It’s Tough to Be a Bug you will see the carving of the chimpanzee. Climb up on his lap for a great photo!
After exiting the show, turn left rather than right for a shortcut to Africa.
In Dinoland, just after you enter the Boneyard, look for two large boxes to the left side of the stairs. Before sitting down to rest your feet, take a moment to life the lid on the second crate.
In the Boneyard to the right of the jeep is a rock formation that look like rib bones. Push on them and see what happens. Go around the corner to the left and step on the footprints on the ground. To the left of the dinosaur tracks is a tiny staircase leading up to a tiny door. ake a look inside.
In Africa at the Dawa Bar you will find two outdoor public showers much like you would find in the real Africa. If you don’t mind getting wet, go ahead and pull the rope hanging from them.
Step out on the patio in the back of the Tusker House restaurant (you can visit even if you don’t eat there) and listen to the sounds coming from the apartment on the second floor.
