Here is a great list of the secrets and fun facts about the Magic Kingdom. Do you have any to add?
Main Street
Sit down on the bench with Goofy, located in front of City Hall, and see if anything happens!
Pick up the wall mounted telephone in the General Store on Main Street, next to the cash register near the front.
Fantasyland
If you are the first to enter Tinker Bell’s Treasures store you will be allowed to “awaken” her by releasing her from the wooden box on a shelf behind the cashier’s till near the back of the shop. If you aren’t the first you will still be able to see the pixie trail dust she left behind around the shop or find her by looking in the keyhole in the sewing drawer next to the door in the front of the shop.
Behind the castle is a fountain with Cinderella…when you bend down to take a drink, bowing to the princess, she will appear to be wearing her crown.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh used to be Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. On the ride, when you enter Owl’s house if you look behind you, you will see Mr. Toad handing the deed to his house over to Owl.
Liberty Square
Haunted Mansion – There are few fun things here to check out
Ask a Cast Member to tell you the story of Madame Leota’s ring. You never know what they may say…
At night, look up at the top-story window above the front door. You may just catch a glimpse of a ghost passing by.
As you are walking past the cemetery outside of the ride entrance, just before the front door look at the large tombstone to your left where Madame Leota’s face is carved in the stone. Watch out…as you are admiring her beauty she may just wake up and look at you!
Frontierland
As you explore Tom Sawyer’s Island you may come across a paintbrush left behind by Tom. If you turn it in to a Cast Member you may get rewarded with a fastpass for a Frontierland ride.
The Frontierland Hoedown happens during the morning on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and late afternoon on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Families dance with the characters and cast members who come out from the different stores and restaurants to perform the hoedown.
Adventureland
When you enter the turnstiles for Pirates of the Caribbean get in the right hand line. On the right hand side is a window with bars on it…look inside and you will see two skeletons playing chess. The chess pieces are placed on the board in a no-win outcome destining the pirates to ponder their next move for eternity.
Just before you get to the turnstiles where you will board your boat, look for a tunnel on the right. Listen closely and you will hear pirates digging for treasure and you may even hear some of their conversations.
Just after you pass through the Jungle Cruise turnstiles, look for a large tarantula in a cage on the right. Ask a Cast Member about it…
Tomorrowland
Look for a phone booth near The Lunching Pad…pick up the receiver and listen.
